Stig Robert Parow is one of the initiators of "Motorcycling in Thailand". Stig has been travelling in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Burma and Malaysia for more than 15 years. He knows Northern Thailand especially well after exploring the area on a motorcycle for several years. Stig has been riding a motorcycle for over 20 years, and during these years has also covered thousands of kilometres in several European countries, including Norway and Sweden. In addition to Norwegian he speaks fluent English, German and Thai. Stig will participate in all of the tours.

The Stig:

”This is the trip for those who want to experience something real and genuine. Many may have visited or heard about Pattaya, Patong Beach or Koh Samui. Unfortunately, these places do not reflect the real Thailand or Thai culture. On the tours we offer you will see Thailand from a perspective that very few have seen before you.

It will mostly be local food, which is an essential part of the experience. It is not an over priced tourist version of Thai food, but the real thing. If you are unsure about ordering food and the name of the dish, then I am there to help you. In the evenings there will be no "farang bar" but genuin Thai restaurants with bands and Thai music.

It is not easy to find your way around many of the provinces or cities if you do not speak Thai. You will hardly see a foreigner (farang) on these trips except for your own companions. English is not widespread in rural areas and many are therefore reluctant to travel alone. It took me many years before I went motorcycling in this area. But what has always struck me is the friendliness and sincerity of the people in each town who are not affected by mass tourism.

Our tours offer a real motorcycle adventure, nice people and good food. It may take several years until this side of Thailand is "discovered" - but when that happens - it will, in my opinion also be destroyed. But time goes way too fast - so hurry up before it's too late!”
